| Main duties of placement: | Acute medical receiving, regular ward rounds, continuing inpatient care and GI day ward. Exposure to outpatient clinics in gastroenterology with hepatology and IBD sub-specialisation. |
| Typical work pattern: | Full shift, early or late, and Hospital at Night team. |
| Learning opportunities: | Ward-based teaching, weekly unit educational meeting and unit pathology/radiology meeting. Also weekly hospital grand rounds and opportunities attend specialty clinics and endoscopy sessions. |
| Teaching: | Mandatory FY2 teaching one full day per 4 month block. |
| Unique selling points: | University teaching hospital with exposure to acute receiving and full range of gastroenterology and hepatology. Unit has high research profile with good opportunities for involvement in research and audit. |
