Main duties of placement:
  • Ward rounds.
  • Pre-op/antenatal/gynaecology clinics/foetal medicine clinic.
  • C-sections/gynaecological surgeries.
  • Labour ward on-call.
  • Gynaecology on-call night duties.
Typical work pattern:

Full shift with cross cover in GRI as gynaecology in SGH was moved over to GRI.

Learning opportunities:

Weekly departmental teachings.

Teaching:

Weekly departmental teachings on Tuesday afternoons.

Unique selling points:

Opportunity to assist in theatre.

Involvement in labour suite is slightly limited as O&G is a specialised field with heavy domination by midwives.
