Main duties of placement:

Unselected A&E minor and major with ED return clinics covering a wide range of medical, surgical, orthopaedic, paediatric etc. emergencies.
Typical work pattern:

Full shift.
Learning opportunities:
  • Hospital Induction Course.
  • Emergency Medicine Induction Course.
  • Formal teaching Thursday PM (2hrs).
  • One-to-one on the job Consultant teaching "great".
Teaching:
  • Two full day regional mandatory teaching.
  • PLS.
  • Encouraged to attend APLS and ATLS.

Opportunity to see unselected patients before anyone else with Consultant one-to-one teaching.
