Foundation Programme:
All rotations are indicative and subject to change. This is an unpaired programme and your F2 year will be agreed partway through F1. Please note, from 2021 to 2023, the number of Scottish Foundation F1 and F2 posts are being increased. The main effect is that by 2023, 50% of all Scottish F2 trainees will experience a block in General Practice. Enhanced community exposure during Foundation training is part of both the recent UK Foundation Programme Review and Scottish Government Health Department policy. In the East region this will mean that the mix of F2 posts available in each programme will change. All programmes will still have a variety of posts including Emergency Medicine, GP, Psychiatry, Medicine, Surgery and some other specialties. The exact mix of F2 posts in each programme will change over the next 2 years as the new posts are created and the programmes rebalanced.
