Main Duties of Placement
|
- Ward rounds in the short stay ward.
- Jobs and discharges for the ward patients.
- Seeing patients with minor injuries.
- Assisting with more unwell patients.
|
Typical Work Pattern
|
- Two week rotating pattern.
- First week 8-4 Mon-Sun.
- Second week off Mon & Tues, 3-11 Weds-Fri, weekend off.
- Repeat.
|
Learning Opportunities
|
- Very well supervised post so you will learn a lot as you go along.
|
Teaching
|
- A&E junior teaching every Thursday.
- Also you will get to go to hospital FY1 teaching.
|
Unique Selling Points
|
- Good hours, relatively low workload but lots of opportunity to get involved.
- Welcoming and friendly department, helpful seniors, lots of experience of things like trauma that you don't see elsewhere.
- Minor injuries particularly useful for future GP.
