Main Duties of Placement | The post holder will gain an introduction to plastics. You will attend daily ward rounds with a registrar, will attend outpatient clinics and assist at both elective and emergency plastic surgery operations. You will have the opportunity to carry out a large number of more minor operations under local anaesthetic, both supervised and on your own. |
Typical Work Pattern | A weekly teaching session takes place, covering various aspects of plastic surgery - MRCS teaching is also available on a weekly basis. There is also a multi-disciplinary head and neck meeting on a weekly basis. |
Learning Opportunities | Joint clinics with orthopaedic surgery for those interested in hand surgery and a joint clinic with dermatology aimed at discussing complex skin cancer patients. |
Teaching | 2 x2 hr teaching per month for FY2 trainees. |
