Unique Selling Points | Caithness offers a unique experience and will provide an excellent training opportunity. We are a Consultant-led service meaning that you will work under direct supervision of the Consultants. You will learn to deal with all medical and surgical emergencies competently and in a timely fashion.
Also, this is the only Rural General Hospital in Scotland which is providing 24/7 service for “Thrombolysis for Acute Ischemic Strokes”. You will gain valuable experience in decision making and interpretation of CT scans with a Consultant alongside you to help. These posts will help you develop excellent communication skills with patients, relatives and fellow professionals. There will be ample opportunities to polish your CV with involvement in ongoing audits. Previous trainees have published their audits internationally. There are regular teaching sessions and monthly evening teach ins, video linked from Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. If you are thinking of doing MRCP or MRCS there are opportunities to arrange one to one/tailor-made teaching. The pass rate of our centre is higher than national average. |
