Main Duties of Placement | The FY1s and FY2s are part of a junior medical paediatric rota at RACH which comprises 10 doctors spending a week at a time in different areas (Assessment Unit, Medical Ward, High Dependency Ward, Day Case Unit as well as Nights when they also cover the Surgical Ward). |

Learning Opportunities | Teaching provided as well as ward teaching every week. One hour x-ray meeting on Tuesdays. |
Teaching | Wednesday 9am includes Departmental Educational talks (MDT forum) and M&M Meetings monthly. All are encouraged to present a case in this meeting. Thursday 8.30am is FY2 teaching and they are asked to present and discuss topics for colleagues. SPR's and Consultants also participate. There is a Friday X-ray meeting at 1.30pm and a Journal club at 1pm on a monthly basis. All are actively encouraged to go to Wednesday Grand Round Meetings during term time. 2 x2hr teaching monthly for FY2 trainees. |
