Individual Placement Description
Placement General Adult Psychiatry
Year F2

Hospital(s) Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen
Main Duties of Placement

Foundation Trainees (F2) in Psychiatry in Aberdeen will work mainly within the Adult Mental Health and Old Age Psychiatry wards, although there will be an opportunity for some to work in specialty services such as Substance Misuse and Liaison Psychiatry.

Typical Work Pattern
Learning Opportunities

The trainees will have an identified educational supervisor with whom they will meet regularly. They will be involved in the clinical care of a range of patients within the psychiatric service and will have opportunities to engage in team working within the psychiatric multi-disciplinary team. They will work with psychiatric STs on the on-call rota. The training experience of all F2 trainees in psychiatry in Aberdeen will be monitored by a designated Consultant Psychiatrist who will ensure that there are opportunities for the relevant learning objectives to be met during the placement.

Teaching

2 x 2hrs mandatory teaching a month for FY2 trainees.
