|Individual Placement Description|
|Hospital(s)||Aberdeen Royal Infirmary|
|Main Duties of Placement||
These posts were previously filled by FY1 and as such a significant proportion of the work is ward-based. There are no plans at present to include these posts on the on-call rota as ENT is a highly specialised field.
|Typical Work Pattern|
Opportunities also exist for junior staff to attend both Outpatient clinics (General ENT; Paediatric; Voice; Head and Neck; Rhinology; Neuro-Otology) and theatre sessions which run daily in ARI and RACH.
There is an active and regular programme of postgraduate education including: weekly seminars, teaching ward rounds, M&M meetings monthly, clinico-pathological meetings, bi-monthly postgraduate afternoons and journal clubs.
|Unique Selling Points||
All junior doctors are encouraged to set personal goals for the 4-month period in ENT and will be encouraged at the unit induction to complete a personal log of learning opportunities.
|It is important to note that this description is a typical example of your placement and may be subject to change.|
