Main Duties of Placement | This post includes direct care of inpatients in a busy admission ward based at the REH and community care of patients based in ELCH with IHTT and CMHT. |
Typical Work Pattern | Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus long days (to 9pm) and blocks of night and weekend duties. All on call work is within psychiatric services. You will spend some days at each site each week and will be expected to travel between the hospital sites and travel expenses can be claimed |
Learning Opportunities | There are considerable opportunities for learning, including weekly inpatient ward rounds, weekly CMHT meetings, and direct 1:1 supervision with the Consultant. Option to attend weekly psychiatry wide case conference, special lectures every two weeks. |
Teaching | Weekly Foundation Teaching Programme in Psychiatry, Balint Group and drop in sessions which take place at the REH.
Monthly regional FY2 teaching programme which takes place at the Western General Hospital |
