Main Duties of Placement | Consultant-led ward rounds, clerking and initial assessment of patients admitted as acute surgical admissions/ortho trauma. Peri-operative patient care on wards. Management peri-operative patients on call in conjunction with HAN. |

Learning Opportunities | Ward-based learning. MDMT and other speciality-specific meetings. General Surgery teaching programme with rota'd FY1 involvement. Ortho Trauma meetings. |
Teaching | Mandatory teaching. General Surgery teaching programme with timetabled FY1/2 involvement. Ward-based teaching Ortho/Gen Surg by specialist trainees. Weekly grand rounds for whole acute division. |
