Main Duties of Placement | Ward rounds and jobs that they generate. Morning trauma meetings. Outpatient clinics. Theatre. |
Typical Work Pattern | The rota is pretty generous with some hard weeks followed by lots of time off; a good mix. Typical day is 8-5. Long days are 8am-8.30pm. Admitting shifts are 9am-9.30pm. |
Learning Opportunities | Ward-based teaching sometimes. |
Teaching | Lunchtime teaching from STs. Also an opportunity to give your own presentations to peers and seniors. |
Unique Selling Points | Working on the wards and getting to see and treat some potentially sick older patients. |
