Main Duties of Placement | Ward rounds, ward jobs; venflons, bloods, discharge letters, reviewing unwell patients. On call cover of other medical wards. |
Typical Work Pattern | Full shift including weekends and nights. |
Learning Opportunities | Small amount of ward-based teaching. Involved in weekly MDT. Plenty of formal weekly medical teaching with opportunity to present. |
Teaching | 2 hours per week FY1 teaching. Opportunity to attend further medical division teaching 2-3 hours per week. |
Unique Selling Points | Working as part of a team with consultants, middle graders, nurse practitioners and staff nurses with exposure to general medicine, care of the elderly and medical specialties. |
