Main Duties of Placement | Out-patient clinics. Assessment of GP referrals under supervision. Review of patients. Involvement in the day unit. Working within an MDT. Assessment of liaison referrals. A & E referrals. Clerking of admissions to ward 2. Review in-patients. |
Typical Work Pattern | Partial shift - long shifts and night shifts. Cover Mental Health Services in FV. Provide emergency assessment service. A qualified nurse available to do joint assessments of referrals. |
Learning Opportunities | Ward rounds. MDT Meeting. CPD Session including Journal Club and Case Presentation. |
Teaching | Fortnightly internal teaching with great attendance and participation from senior staff. Many external speakers invited. Wide variety of topics. Receives excellent feedback. Mandatory Foundation teaching. |
