| Main Duties of Placement | Ward rounds. Assisting in theatre. Peri-operative care. Assessment and initial management of emergency admissions. |
| Typical Work Pattern | Full shift with nights on hospital at night team. No daytime weekends. |
| Learning Opportunities | Informal ward teaching. Weekly M+M/educational unit meeting. Weekly colorectal, UGI and vascular MDT. |
| Teaching | Unit teaching 1 hour per week lunchtime teaching. Additional ortho/surgical teaching program being developed. |
