Main Duties of Placement | Introduction to laboratory activities. Outpatient clinic including Lipid, Diabetic (type 2), general endocrinology and mineral metabolism. Taking part in the acute medical receiving rota. |
Typical Work Pattern | Monday to Frida, 9 am to 5pm when on main base. Shift as per rota when on acute receiving. |
Learning Opportunities | Laboratory-based teaching. Departmental meetings weekly. One-to-one tutorials. Hospital grand rounds and opportunities to attend other specialities' meetings. Ward-based teaching while receiving. At least one clinical audit has to be completed. |
Teaching | Mandatory FY2 teaching one full day per 4 months block. |
