Main Duties of Placement | Based in Walk-in Clinic, assessing own patients, ordering appropriate investigations and instigating treatment where appropriate. |
Typical Work Pattern | Monday to Friday usually 8.30 to 4.30 with some evening clinics. |
Learning Opportunities | Senior doctor available at all walk-in clinics for advice and clinical supervision. See also teaching section. |
Teaching | One session a week is protected teaching time; this includes journal club, lab sessions and multidisciplinary masterclasses on relevant GUM and sexual health topics. |
Unique Selling Points | Opportunity to manage patients independently with senior support readily available at all times. Interesting variety of cases, particularly if you have an interest in GUM, community gynaecology or GP. Excellent opportunity to obtain a diploma in sexual and reproductive health. Unlike any other FY2 rotations. |
