Main Duties of Placement | Breast Clinic (2 or 3 per week). Breast Theatre (2 per week). Minor Operations (1 or 2 per week). |
Typical Work Pattern | Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (may be slightly earlier or later). Long shift (till 9.00 pm) every two weeks. |
Learning Opportunities | Multi-disciplinary teams: Breast, Colorectal. Surgical Journal Club/Morbidity & Mortality Meetings on alternate weeks. Receiving shifts with Registrar. |
Teaching | Every five weeks, there is a group of students for whom you may be asked to run two teaching sessions on suturing, using plastic models. |
Unique Selling Points | Opportunity to do the Minor Operations Clinics. A generous amount of time between Breast Clinics and Theatre to go to General Theatre and receive patients on the wards. |
