| Main Duties of Placement | Care of patients with hepatic and gastrointestinal disease, also general medical admissions. Ward rounds. 3 week placement in the Acute Receiving Unit. |
| Typical Work Pattern | 15 week rolling rota. Usually on base ward. Occasionally required to cross cover another specialty. |

Plenty of opportunity for practical experience such as ascetic taps and insertion of ascetic drains. Good teaching on ward rounds. |
