Main Duties of Placement | Theatre, clinics, ward cover, acute receiving. |
Typical Work Pattern | Participation in 1:10 on call rota with senior middle grade cover during day and night. Regular participation in theatre and clinics. |
Learning Opportunities | Practical surgical experience as part of, UGI and colorectal teams. Consultant led teaching in clinic and theatre. Close supervision and feedback during on call. |
Teaching | Weekly FY2 teaching, weekly hospital meeting, Monthly surgical meeting and monthly surgical junior teaching session. Additional Lanarkshire wide surgical teaching available in Kirklands and simulation training in Monklands. |
