Main Duties of Placement

Manage patients in ward.

Pre-assessment clinics.

On-call for emergencies.

Attend theatres.

Outpatient clinics.

Typical Work Pattern

Rolling rota, typically between 0800hrs to 0500pm.

Rrolling on-call rota over night.

Learning Opportunities

Mainly at trauma meetings, theatres, clinics, ward rounds and organised teaching sessions.

Teaching

Regular presentation by a senior member of staff (consultants and registrars) every week.

Presentation on a topic every week on Tuesday morning.

Encouraged to attend Urology and General Surgery teaching.

Rota allows annual leave to be taken at the required time rather than the allocated time.
