Placement Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery

Main Duties of Placement

Main duties of placement: trauma meeting attendance and presentation, ward rounds, pre- and post-operative management of orthopaedic patients, assisting in theatre, pre-assessment clinic, seeing and treating patients in A+E during the day and overnight.

Typical Work Pattern

Typical days are 8.30am to 5pm with weekend 8am-9pm and night shifts.

Learning Opportunities

Trauma meeting teaching.

Monday and Wednesday morning junior and consultant teaching.

Teaching in theatre, ward and A+E.

Teaching

As above also 1 hour FY2 teaching once a week.
