| Main Duties of Placement | Research placement: to undertake a defined research project leading to an output, based in a research team. Projects may be lab-based, data analysis, writing a systematic review etc. |
| Typical Work Pattern | 9-5 days, but posts will differ depending on research project needs. Likely to involve some clinical out-of-hours work. The appropriate Unit Induction will be provided for OOH duties. |
| Learning Opportunities | Undertaking a research project providing novel skills. AFY may have the opportunity to attend seminars, group meetings etc. depending on research project. |
| Teaching | Should attend the local mandatory weekly F2 clinical teaching. There may be additional teaching opportunities related to specific projects. |
| Unique Selling Points | Opportunity to undertake research projects with world-leading academics across the university. May be lab-based, data analysis etc. but all should include learning novel skills. |
