Main Duties of Placement

Attendance at OPD clinics.

Attendance at one theatre session as training progresses.

Fundus Fluroscien Clinic.

Friday morning at NVH (consent and giving iv fluroscein).

Typical Work Pattern

Full shift on call via INS/Spinal unit.

Learning Opportunities

OPD-based Ophthalmology learning (slit lamp fundus examination).

Minor periocular surgery in clinics.

Teaching

Attendance at Regional Ophthalmology teaching at GGH each Wednesday afternoon in term time.

Attendance at Ophthalmology-specific clinical tutorial Tuesday morning 8.30am-9.30am.

First two weeks supernumerary with one-on-one clinical teaching progressing to seeing and working up OPD patients under supervision.
