  • Palliative Care
  • Women's Health, implants and coil fitting

 

Any Interesting Features of the Practice:

  • Host foundation doctors as well as GP trainees.
  • Full multi-disciplinary clinical team (pharmacy, NH nurse, ANP, physio and experienced practice nurse in house with DNs and HVs in same building).
  • On the edge of Forth Valley with a small number of Lothian patients making us accessible from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.
  • A mixed urban and rural population.

 

Educational Opportunities:

  • Trainees are encouraged to take part in the Forth Valley half-day release teaching as well as regional training which covers minor surgery and child health surveillance.
  • Trainees have an additional 4 hours protected teaching session within the Practice on a weekly basis.
  • All Partners are involved with the educational training process.
  • The Practice has weekly clinical and business meetings which the Trainee is encouraged to attend, offering opportunities to present SEA/audit as well as discuss current clinical and administrative issues.   There is also a monthly "Gold Standard" meeting specifically to discuss our palliative care patients.

 

Advantages of Working in the Practice:

  • The Practice team work well together providing a strong team ethos and friendly atmosphere.   All members of the team are happy to be involved in the training programme which provides the Trainee with an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere.
  • The Practice has continued to score very highly in the QOF domains and is particularly well organised and supportive.
