Size and Staffing
Our suburban practice is located within easy commutable distance of Glasgow yet a few miles from Loch Lomond and the mountains and glens of the Trossachs. Within a well equipped recently refurbished Health centre served by on-site X-ray facilities, physiotherapy and an adjacent out-patient department, you as a GP Trainee will be welcomed into our friendly, family practice consisting of 2 partners, a practice nurse and a full multidisciplinary team with whom we work very closely. We have a population of 4000 patients with a fairly even range of ages and socio economic class. Despite being a smaller practice we are dynamic and enthusiastic, ready to embrace the new challenges that face General Practice.
Trainee Info
As a Practice we consider training of the highest importance. As our GP Trainee, you will have your own newly refurbished room and consult alongside the other partners. You will be welcomed as an important member of our team and we will allow you to fulfil your full potential by participating in all aspects of the running of General Practice. There will be protected time each week for a morning tutorial on a Friday and additional educational time on a Wednesday for a further tutorial or videoing. There will in addition be a half day protected study time, and fortnightly, a full away day with fellow trainees at the West of Scotland Inveraray Group. We will also meet weekly for a Practice Business Meeting and thereafter with the extended practice team. This meeting often includes additional educational events for the whole team. Daily, we meet and discuss educational issues with our trainees on an ad-hoc basis usually after surgeries.
Special Interests
Within the Practice Dr Julia Dunn has a special interest in diabetes and child health. Dr Stephen Dunn has a special interest in Dermatology, working at the local hospital as a Hospital Practitioner.
