Type of Practice

We are a Training Practice set in Greenock with a long history of training over the past 30 years and train both GP trainees and FY2s.  At Station-View Health Centre we have purpose-built premises sharing with one other practice.

The Health Centre facilities include Conference Room, Library and individual ST Consulting Rooms.

We are situated beside the main Greenock Train Station with good access to all areas by rail, and other public transport.

We are an urban practice with a list size of approximately 5500 patients.

In Greenock we do have a high level of deprivation and we have a dedicated Drug Clinic run by one of the Partners.

As practice Staff we have 2 GP Partners + 1 ANP alongside GP trainees and an FY2.  We also have a Practice Nurse, HCSW as well as Pharmacy and Physio support from the Health Board, CPNs, District Nurses and Health visitors.

We have access to Treatment Room facilities in the nearby Greenock Health Centre and X-Ray facilities at the Hospital.

Interesting features of the practice

The spacious premises were purpose built for 2 practices with good consulting and study facilities for GP ST Doctors with 3 dedicated rooms for ST's/ FY2s.

An ongoing commitment to deal with chronic disease in an area of high deprivation and dedicated Drug Clinic for patients.

Advantages and Opportunities of Working in our Practice

We are a warm and friendly practice committed to giving Trainees the best possible start to GP life.

Our Practice consider training to be a whole Practice commitment and for that reason we encourage all Staff, including Nurses, Admin, Practice Manager and GP's to contribute with training leading to a very wide based education facility.

We have twice weekly protected tutorials plus weekly attendance at our Practice meeting.

We are part of the Clydeward South Training Scheme with a well organised educational programme for Registrars.  We also actively encourage and try to facilitate any particular learning needs noted by the GPST Doctors.
