Our semi rural practice is easily accessible off the M8 in a village called Bishopton only 20 minutes from the West End of Glasgow. We are a friendly bunch of 6 enthusiastic GPs. We have around 9000 patients including 200 in Erskine Care Home for ex service men and women. We became a training practice in 2009 and are very involved in undergraduate teaching, teaching years 3 to 5, and as a ST are welcome to become involved in this. To facilitate our GP training, we have had 2 more consulting rooms attached to the health centre.

We have a website www.thebishoptonmedicalpractice.co.uk. We are paperlight and use a system called EMIS. More information about training in the area can be found at http://glasgowgptraining.com/gp-training-practices/bishopton/

Amongst our practice staff we have 6 GPs (1 eight session and 5 six session), 2 nurse practitioners, a practice nurse and a Health care assistant, a Practice Manager and a team of administrators and receptionists.

Attached to the practice we also have District Nurses, Health Visitor and midwifery staff, a Community Pharmacist, phlebotomist and Community Psychiatric Nurses (Doing Well - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach to depression). We also have access to Glasgow Weight Management services, Smoking cessation services and Live Active.

Dr Hamilton is our Lead Trainer and Dr McKenzie is our Deputy Trainer. That said, all the partners, nurse practitioners and our practice manager and team are all committed to and actively involved in your training.
