Type of Practice 

The Cairns Practice is an urban practice based in the East End of Glasgow with a current list size of 9671 patients. We are a deep end training practice supported by 6 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, GP Retainer and long-term GP locum. Nursing team includes our practice nurse and 2 health care assistants.  Our attached staff consists of advanced practice physiotherapist, community links worker, advanced prescribing support pharmacist and welfare officer.  We pride ourselves in being an approachable practice and encourage suggestions and feedback.

 

Educational Opportunities

The practice team meets on a weekly basis with regular clinical meetings and journal club presentations. We participate in clinical audit and encourage involvement from the entire team. We are also committed to undergraduate teaching of third year and final year students. Our practice demographics are varied, and trainees will gain valuable experience during their time with the practice.
