We are a friendly group practice with 14,500 patients based on two sites at Muirhead and Moodiesburn on the outskirts of North East Glasgow, within easy commute to both Glasgow and Lanarkshire.  We cover both urban and rural areas, with a wide-ranging mix of patients.

We completed our purpose built new premises in Muirhead in 2008.  The branch surgery at Moodiesburn is also purpose-built, with full nursing and attached staff back up.  The GP trainee has their own consultation room at both sites.

There are four partners in the practice (3 female, 1 male) who are all committed to GP training. We are supported by five salaried partners and three advanced nurse practitioners, who are offer minor illness appointments and are prescribers. We have two practice nurses, one of whom is also a prescriber. We also have two on-site practice pharmacists and a mental health nurse and link support worker.

We have been a training practice for over 35 years.  We take an active part in training both within the practice and in the wider group. Dr Sturrock also takes part in training of GPs to become trainers themselves.

We have a welcoming learning environment with FY2, ST1 and two ST3's in post at present, as well as a trainee ANP.  All our staff enjoy having a trainee in the practice and are keen to help and guide.

We are committed to quality General Practice but also like to have fun.

Special Interests

Specialist interests of partners in the practice include child health surveillance, diabetes, coil and implanon insertion. GP registrars are encouraged to take an active part in these areas.

We participate in a Gold Standards Palliative care scheme with our attached staff.

Dr Laher is currently the cluster quality lead and trainees are encouraged to take part in cluster activities and quality improvement.
