Any interesting features of the practice

  • We are a friendly and welcoming two-centre practice in the south east of Glasgow covering both Croftfoot and Gorbals area. Our practice at Gorbals Health and Care Centre was opened in January 2019 and is an open modern purpose built practice with the City Centre on our doorstep.

Educational opportunities

  • The induction for ST1s and ST3s is very structured covering general and personal learning needs.
  • The practice has a strong, well-developed sense of team working which is sustained through weekly MDT in house meetings. We ensure that our STs are involved at every level of practice activity. Everyone who works in the practice has something to contribute to the GP Trainees time.
  • Trainees are allocated 2 teaching sessions per week with trainers, practice manager and the extended MDT.
  • The practice has a full complement of Pharmacotherapy staff who are also at the heart of our team.
  • We have previously provided the opportunity to swap with a rural practice for a short period to increase experience
  • Our trainee outcomes record is excellent in respect of AKT, CSA and WPBA.

Advantages/opportunities of working in your practice

  • The Practice embraces new technology using webcam technology for video consultations. We have an up to date website with lots more information  https://themcevinneypractice.scot.nhs.uk/
  • We are a Deep End Practice and are lucky to have a full time Links Practitioner who helps connect patients to community resources and organises patient walks and produces weekly newsletters to allow us to be familiar with all that is on offer for our patients within our community.
  • We have a fabulous team who enjoy the fun of having new trainees each year. Bring your enthusiasm and enjoy the year.
