The Practice
We are located within Cardonald Medical Centre. There are 2 other practices within the health centre and a Community Treatment Room.
Cardonald is in the south side of Glasgow and is a busy and thriving part of the City. We are fortunate to be in a central location and have a number of supermarkets, pharmacies and local cafes within walking distance of the Practice. We are within easily commutable distance from the West End of Glasgow and the South Side.
Our Staff
We have 4 partners, Dr Datta, Dr Fisken, Dr McGill and Dr Whitehead. Dr Datta and Dr Fisken are our GP Educational Supervisors, but all our GPs are keen to be involved in training. We also have a salaried GP Dr McMahon and a practice Pharmacist.
We have a very helpful team of admin staff lead by our Practice Manager Donna Alexander. We have two practice nurses and a health care assistant and a team of district nurses and health visitors who we meet with regularly which enhances our practice team approach.
We have a strong practice team and our trainees are quickly made to feel part of this. They are encouraged to attend our monthly district nurse, health visitor and practice meetings. We also have a coffee meeting every morning which all GPs attend.
Our Patients
We cover a wide area in the south side and have a diverse and wide-ranging mix of patients with differing needs including some asylum seekers. Our Practice covers some areas of deprivation and some more affluent areas within our catchment. We have around 5,200 patients currently.
We run a shared care Methadone clinic weekly.
Many of our patients have been with the practice for generations and we are in a fortunate position to look after whole families and provide true ‘cradle to grave’ care.
We look forward to welcoming you as part of our team.
